Steven Siler isn’t known for finishing fights with his hands, but he did just that at UFC Fight Night 26. In 50 seconds, he was able to knockout Mike Brown.
“It was one of the best 50 seconds of my life,” said Siler on MMA Junkie Radio. “I’ve had 30 something fights, and I’ve only had one knockout in my career, so I imagined winning but I imagined going to a decision or me submitting him. I never thought of me actually landing a punch and knocking him out.”
The win improved Siler to 5-1 for the UFC, with most of those fights going to the judges. Siler now has a two fight win streak since the start of 2013.
Brown had debated retirement before signing another UFC deal. The defeat to Siler was the first fight on his new contract.
UFC Fight Night 26 came from the TD Garden in Boston, MA on August 17.
