Matt Hamill has confirmed plans to fight Thiago Silva at UFC Fight Night: Maia vs. Shields this October.
The bout has been rumored, and Hamill made it official by saying he signed the contract recently.
Hamill and Silva are expected to be part of the main card for the October 9 card from Sao Paulo, Brazil. Demian Maia faces Jake Shields in the main event.
“I just signed the contract,” Hamill posted on Facebook. “I’m scheduled to fight on Oct 9th at Brazil against Silva. Let’s rock (and) roll baby.”
Hamill (11-4) came out of a self-imposed retirement last year, defeating Roger Hollett. He left MMA after back-to-back 2011 losses to Alexander Gustafsson and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.
