Matt Mitrione used to tweet away, but he’s changed his speed since being suspend for breaking the UFC Code of the Conduct.
“I put out things that were funny to me,” said Mitrione to Bleacher Report. “Everything across the board now, I have to triple guess. I can’t afford to be non-filtered anymore and I learned that I have to approach media, social or otherwise, in a far different manner. That’s the way it has to be going forward.”
The heavyweight found trouble when he used a homophobic slur to describe transgender fighter Fallon Fox. He ended up taking a short suspension and fine for his comments.
Mitrione is 6-2 with a 19 second win over Phil De Fries at UFC on FUEL TV 9. He meets Brendan Schaub at UFC 165 on September 21 from the Air Canada Centre.
