For anyone thinking Alistair Overeem is going to walk away from competing, they are wrong.
Overeem, who was finished for the second straight time this past weekend by Travis Browne at UFC Fight Night: Shogun vs. Sonnen, took to Twitter to confirm plans to continue training – after a short break.
“In good spirits but bummed of course about the loss!” Overeem posted. “Many thanks to the fans for their support! After a short holiday (will) be back at it!”
He added that the holiday is “to recover, but will continue training.”
After entering the UFC on a lengthy win streak, Overeem has gone just 1-2. He defeated Brock Lesnar, was suspended for almost an entire year due to a failed pre-fight drug test and was knocked out by Antonio Silva upon returning.
