Bellator 98 Shakeup: Brett Cooper To Face Alexander Shlemenko With Doug Marshall Injured

Sept. 7, 2013 – Bellator’s Season 8 middleweight tournament winner has suffered a broken hand in training that now has the man Marshall knocked out for the title shot, Brett Cooper, who is 6-1 in his past seven fights and a threat to any middleweight, replacing “The Rhino”.

Cooper holds a 19-8 record with 12 of his wins coming by way of knock out. The champ Shlemenko (47-7) is an incredible 27-2 in the past 6 years, one of those wins being a decision over Cooper in 2011, so we have ourselves a rematch. This time, the championship belt will be on the line at Bellator 98, when the circular cage returns to the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
