Steven Siler wasn’t a fan of sparring just a few years ago. That’s changed and he showed it with a 50 second knockout win over Mike Brown at UFC Fight Night 26.
“Before I used to work on my ground game,” said Siler to MMA Fighting. “I used to love grappling days and hate the sparring days. The last year, I’ve switched by loving the standup game and not wanting to grapple. I’ve been working on my hands and it worked.”
It was only the second time Siler has finished a UFC fight. He’s 5-1 for the promotion and joined them in late 2011.
Brown had debated retirement before signing a new contract. He starts it off with the defeat to Siler.
