James Vick scored the second quickest win in a UFC lightweight debut at UFC Fight Night 26. He needed all of 58 seconds to finish Ramsey Nijem with a guillotine choke in his return after almost two years away.
“Out of sight, out of mind and hopefully I’m back on everyone’s mind,” said Vick to MMA Fighting. “I did expect to submit or knock him out. I finished a guy in less than a minute in my UFC debut. Everything went picture perfect.”
Due to several injuries, The Ultimate Fighter contestant was just able to officially join the UFC. He’s 5-0 and stopped all but one win. Vick took a few injuries from this camp and thinks he needs a little time to properly heel. He also said to expect gold around his waist within four years.
Vick opened UFC Fight Night 26, which was August 17 and came from the TD Garden in Boston, MA.
