A pair of welterweights looking to become the new No. 1 contender will square off.
When and where, though, remains a mystery.
UFC president Dana White stated during his post-fight media scrum following UFC Fight Night: Shogun vs. Sonnen Saturday night that they are working on putting Robbie Lawler and Rory MacDonald together.
Both fighters competed last month, scoring victories at UFC on FOX: Johnson vs. Moraga. MacDonald (15-1) downed Jake Ellenberger, while Lawler (21-9) topped Bobby Voelker.
The UFC welterweight title is set to be defended by Georges St-Pierre at UFC 167: St-Pierre vs. Hendricks against Johny Hendricks.
