Urijah Faber and Michael McDonald sat just a person apart Saturday night during the post-fight press conference to UFC Fight Night: Shogun vs. Sonnen.
However, after they each picked up impressive wins, rumors of a potential fight started.
Both were asked about it, and Faber stated that he actually saw McDonald’s first-ever MMA fight when he was 16.
“That’s a fight that will probably happen,” said Faber, who defeated Iuri Alcantara. “I don’t make match ups, but it will definitely be a battle if it happens.”
McDonald, who topped Brad Pickett, said, “It’s not about having to hate people. Brad is one of my good friends. One of the good, good people you meet is Urijah. He is a good guy and been a friend of mine for a long time. If it happens, it happens.”
UFC president Dana White was pleased with hearing that, chiming in, “You see that? That’s how it works.”
