UFC officials were so impressed with the fighters at Saturday’s UFC Fight Night: Shogun vs. Sonnen event that they didn’t limit their bonuses to just four.
Instead, they decided to hand out five bonuses, two each “Knockout of the Night” honors.
Matt Brown and Travis Browne each scored the “Knockout of the Night,” while Chael Sonnen picked up “Submission of the Night” status.
The “Fight of the Night” went to Michael McDonald and Brad Pickett, a bout in which McDonald won.
UFC president Dana White announced that the attendance was 12,539 for a live gate of $1.53 million.
UPDATE: Well, it was originally correct, as McDonald was a double-winner, also scoring “Submission of the Night.”
It was announced as McDonald picking up $100,000, but White stated he didn’t. Later during the post-fight press conference he corrected himself.
