Matt Brown is all about fighting and isn’t concerned about what’s next or where he sits in the welterweight division.
“All that stuff is just superficial to me,” said Brown to Bloody Elbow. “I’m just here to fight and do the best I can. All the other stuff will kind of take care of itself. It’s not really my concern at the moment. At this point, I know that I’ve got a really tough guy in front of me, and that’s all I can worry about right now.”
The tough fighter he’s speaking of is Mike Pyle. Last year, Pyle won three fights within round one. He returned this year with a split-decision on Rick Story.
In 2012, Brown took on four fights within the year. It was a record number of wins in such a short time and he left the victor in each of them. Brown’s won five in a row with four being stopped in round two.
The welterweights meet at today’s UFC Fight Night 26. It comes from the TD Garden in Boston, MA and FightLine will be here all day with coverage.
