Reza Madadi, a UFC lightweight, was sentenced to 18 months in prison for aggravated burglary of a luxury handbag store in Sweden.
MMA NYTT reports Madadi has already been in jail for two months, awaiting the verdict.
Surveillance footage showed three masked men parked outside the Bottega Veneta at approximately 5:01 a.m. on May 24. They entered the building after smashing the glass front door with a sledgehammer. They stole numerous handbags within four minutes.
An hour later, police tracked the vehicle to a nearby garage with broken glass matching the crime scene. Madadi was present during this and taken into custody.
Madadi can appeal the verdict up until September 6.
In his last UFC fight, Madadi took Submission of the Night on Michael Johnson with a d’arce choke in April.
