Jessica Eye took her Bellator release with no problem. While she enjoyed her time for the promotion, they recently decided to discontinue their female divisions as they only had three fighters left on contract. Felice Herrig and Jessica Aguilar were the other two released. Herrig has already signed with Invicta FC.
As for Eye, she’s fielding several offers.
“When I signed with Bellator, there was no other option,” said Eye to MMA Junkie. “Two and a half years ago, there was no other option. Shoot, even when I got into fighting, there was no other options.”
Eye is 10-1 and joined the sport in the summer of 2010. In Bellator she earned decisions over Casey Noland and Anita Rodriguez, and then took a one minute standing arm-triangle choke against Zoila Frausto Gurgel.
There’s no word about where Eye could be headed next. The flyweight expressed interest in Invicta FC, World Series of Fighting and the UFC.
Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney confirmed the dissolution of the female divisions earlier in the week.
