UFC Fight Night 26’s Mike Brown Debated Retirement

Mike Brown snapped his two fight losing skid as he took on Daniel Pineda at UFC 146 in May 2012. After Brown took the decision win, he knew there was plenty left in the tank and inked a new five fight deal with the UFC.

“I felt great in the Pineda fight,” said Brown. “It was before that I was having some health issues and it was a matter of me just getting healthy. I felt great in the fight and I sat back a couple weeks and decided I was going to keep fighting.”

The first name on his new contract is Steven Siler. Since late 2011, Siler is 4-1 for the UFC. He enters the Octagon off a decision win of Kurt Holobaugh.

Brown has been associated with the WEC and UFC for years. For a brief period, he was the WEC featherweight champion.

They’re on the prelims of UFC Fight Night 26. It’s comes from Boston, MA’s TD Garden this Saturday, August 17.
