It’s only been a month since Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos won the Invicta FC featherweight championship and she’s already booked her next move. It won’t be MMA, as Santos ventures into a Muay Thai fight against kickboxing champion Martina Jindrova.
For Santos, she loves to compete and is familiar with Muay Thai.
“It’s good experience for my game and a good opportunity for me,” said Santos to USA Today Sports. “I like to always keep training in jiu-jitsu and standup, and now Muay Thai. I like striking — it’s more exciting to watch, and this is a good opportunity to fight Muay Thai. It’s very exciting, and I hope to have other fights before the end of the year. I think I learn something every fight.”
Since returning from a suspension due to steroids and a contract dispute with the UFC, Santos has won twice this year for Invicta FC. She has two fights left on her current deal with the all-female promotion.
The two ladies headline Lion Fight 11 on September 20. It comes from the Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas, NV and airs on AXS TV.
