Bellator Drops WMMA From Their Roster, Releases All Their Female Fighters

Bellator has no women fighters, as they have chosen to leave that area of the sport and focus on the seven male divisions. The three remaining female fighters on their roster were granted a release.

No longer apart of the roster are Jessica Eye, Felice Herrig and Jessica Aguilar.

“Given our current focus, we are not in position to provide these very deserving women regular and reoccurring fights on a large platform,” said Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney. “And, I felt it was best to let them go and secure options that did. I genuinely wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors and will be rooting for each of them wherever they fight.”

Eye is a 10-1 flyweight who won all three of her Bellator fights, with the most recent being at December’s Bellator 83. Herrig also won her three Bellator appearances with the strawweight taking two in a row for the promotion. Aguilar spent the most time with Bellator, going 5-1.

Herrig has already signed with Invicta FC. As for Eye and Aguilar, their next move isn’t confirmed. With the UFC only having a bantamweight division, they may be headed to Invicta FC as well.
