Daniel Cormier has heard enough about a move to light heavyweight.
Cormier, who meets Roy Nelson at UFC 166: Velasquez vs. Dos Santos 3 later this year, is focused entirely on the task at hand. He appeared as a co-host on “UFC Tonight” Tuesday and summed things up.
“I’m not going to discuss Jon Jones anymore,” he said. “I’ve got a tough guy in front of me right now. I don’t want to fight Cain (Velasquez), but I have to get a little healthier; I’ve got kids now.”
Cormier almost seemed to be hesitant on his move to 205 pounds, but continued on, saying he wants MMA fans to get healthier with him.
“I’ve got a website you can follow with me as I go down,” Cormier said. “It’s Get Fit With DC and I can tch their progress as we do it together.”
The former Olympian, who is unbeaten in his MMA career, also made a point to ask Nelson to do something for him for their match.
“Roy Nelson needs to take that thing, pull it back and put it in two ponytails – or put it in cornrows,” said Cormier, of Nelson’s hair. “I want him to look as if he ate Urijah Faber and his hair has Urijah’s little corn rows on fight night.”
