Anderson Silva Knockout Was Caused By Laziness, Says Legendary Boxer

Chalk up Anderson Silva’s UFC 162 defeat to overconfidence, felt renowned boxer Freddie Roach.

“I think he gets a little bored in there because he’s talented,” said Roach on The MMA Hour. “I think he could’ve avoided taking those shots, but again, I’m not sure what his thought process was. I think he was just a little bit lazy and playing around too much.”

It took a few good shots by Chris Weidman to allow a new middleweight champion to be crowned. It was the first knockout defeat for Silva and ended his UFC winning streak at 16.

Weidman is undefeated with 10 wins and spent time in Ring of Combat before joining the UFC.

The title rematch headlines UFC 168 on December 28. It will come from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV and is the final show of 2013.
