John Howard’s Hard Work Pays Off At UFC Fight Night 26

John Howard watched in horror and disbelief as the Boston Marathon was attacked earlier in the year. The Massachusetts native wanted to show his support by competing on the next UFC show to hail from the state. When an injury occurred, the UFC gave in and Howard returns against Uriah Hall.

“It just shows that hard work pays off and I’m so happy the UFC gave me a second chance to show what I can do,” said Howard to Bleacher Report. “I know I belong in the UFC and it feels good to be coming back. I’ve been working so hard, and now that I am coming back to the UFC, I’m so happy. It’s a dream come true and I’m ready.”

In 2009, Howard started his UFC run with three consecutive wins. They were matched with three defeats and a release. Howard has since been fighting for CES in Rhode Island. He’s their middleweight champ with four title defenses.

Hall is from the last season of The Ultimate Fighter. He created a buzz by ending fights quickly and in dominate fashion. He lost in the finals.

The duo are on the main card of UFC Fight Night 26, which is August 17. It comes from the TD Garden in Boston, MA.
