Sam Stout has remained one of the most exciting fighters to watch since he entered the Octagon at UFC 58 to fight Spencer Fisher in his home country of Canada. With the crowd on his side, “Hands of Stone” reeled in a split decision win in his UFC debut.
Stout’s plunging striking style would get him 7 post-fight bonuses (6 fight of the night, 1 knockout of the night) out of 16 UFC fights. One of those being a back-and-forth slug fest with Lauzon back at UFC 108.
Lauzon, who has surpassed Stout with post-fight bonuses (10), takes on the TUF finalist Michael Johnson in the opening bout on UFC Saturday.
With Hands of Stone having already shared the cage with Lauzon for three rounds, he believes the Bostonion can capitalize on his experience advantage and school Michael Johnson in his home
“I think what makes the difference in this one is Lauzon’s level of opponents that these guys have fought before, you look back at Lauzon’s record, he’s fought some of the who’s who of the UFC and he’s been here for a very long time.”
If what Stout assumes doesn’t turn out to be true, and Johnson comes out like a killer ready to take the Hometown kid’s head off, then there’s a high chance that the fight could turn out to be a barn burner as the majority of Lauzon’s bouts turn out to be.
