2012 was closed with Joe Lauzon and Jim Miller stealing Fight of the Year with two days left on the calendar. UFC president Dana White said fights like that have no real losers. Lauzon didn’t agree.
“People always tell me how exciting my last fight was, but even though I had a good fight with Miller, I’m still coming off of a loss,” said Lauzon to The New York Post. “Having an exciting fight is great, but it was still a loss.”
The loss was a bloody one and dropped Lauzon to 22-8. He’s tied the UFC record for most post-fight bonuses with 12.
The lightweight returns against Michael Johnson, who will look to snap his two fight losing skid.
They’re set for UFC Fight Night 26 on August 17. It comes from the TD Garden in Boston, MA and airs on the new FOX channel.
