Many felt Tyrone Spong’s second MMA outing wasn’t a threat in Angel DeAnda, but he kept the pace with Spong. The end saw Spong take a decision over DeAnda to improve to 2-0.
“I was surprised about his toughness,” said Spong to Sherdog. “He took a lot of punishment. For him, it was the biggest fight of his career. He put in a lot of work and was determined to win. He gave it his all.”
Spong said if it was a kickboxing match, he would have finished DeAnda much quicker. He was still satisfied with his performance. Spong now prepares for GLORY 11 against Nathan Corbett in October.
The loss stopped DeAnda’s four fight win streak. He drops to 11-3.
