Marlon Moraes wasn’t well-known when he joined the World Series of Fighting (WSOF), but has turned heads as he mauls through opponents. His latest was a decision win over Brandon Hempleman at WSOF 4, where Moraes dominated with leg kicks in rounds one and two before a broken finger and undisclosed foot injury slowed him in the final five minutes.
“I gave 100 percent and in the last round, my foot was hurt and I couldn’t keep kicking him,” said Moraes to Sherdog. “Hopefully, next time I can stop him. I’m new in the game and learning.”
The bantamweight joined the promotion after taking two XFC wins. Moraes’ 3-0 for the WSOF with the other wins from Miguel Torres and Tyson Nam. He wants whatever the WSOF has planned.
Hempleman drops to 9-2 and had his six fight win streak from 2012 end.
WSOF 4 came from the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, CA with a main card airing live on the NBC Sports Network. It was yesterday, August 10, and complete results can be found here.
