Marlon Moraes made is look easy vs. Brandon Hempleman Saturday night at World Series of Fighting: Spong vs. DeAnda.
After taking Hempleman apart in the first round, though, Moraes suffered a broken foot in the second. He was booed by the California crowd for his inability to finish Hempleman throughout the final five minutes.
Ali Abdel-Aziz, an executive and match matcher for the WSOF, confirmed news of the foot injury on Twitter.
Moraes badly damage Hempleman, opening a nasty cuty on his face and proceeding to do work on his lead leg with strong kicks. The Brazilian easily scored a decision victory on the scorecards.
Moraes trains with former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar, who sent out a “Great job” tweet following the win to his teammate.
