Former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz has signed a multi-year contract with Bellator MMA. He will face Quinton “Rampage” Jackson in the promotions first-ever pay-per-view later this year, Bellator: Rampage vs. Tito.
On Twitter Saturday night, Ortiz sounded off on critics of the pricing of the event.
“Why do u ask just 4 this PPV?” Ortiz asked. “(People) pay 59.95 every month 4 a processed fight card that is just push on them. We have been fighters who fight no matter what! We put on an exciting fight each and every time.”
He later added, “(Love) us or hate us millions have bought our PPV. It doesn’t matter what company it is. (We’re) the entertainment! Fighters.”
The card is set for November from California and will mark the first fight for Ortiz since his retirement last year following a loss to Forrest Griffin.
Jackson signed with Bellator after his UFC contract expired earlier this year.
