When Tyson Griffin was racking up UFC wins, he was on top of the world. Several defeats hurt his demeanor about MMA, but he’s feeling better.
He’ll look to make a name for himself once again at today’s World Series of Fighting (WSOF) 4. It’s his debut for the promotion.
“That’s why I got into this sport originally, was because I enjoyed it,” said Griffin to MMA Fighting. “I enjoyed the competition, it was a lot of fun. And now I’m having fun again. I want to give myself another chance to make another run at the sport and see how far I can take it.”
Out of the UFC, Griffin earned five Fight of the Night honors. He was let go by the UFC after going 1-3 in his final few years for them. Griffin’s returning after a nine month layoff.
Gesias Cavalcante will attempt to spoil Griffin’s WSOF debut. He’s 1-1 for the WSOF and comes off a loss.
They’re on the main card of WSOF 4, which airs live on the NBC Sports Network. It’s from the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, CA and FightLine will have the results.
