Pat Curran heard Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney speak about wanting to fill their first pay-per-view with championship fights. The featherweight champ is still waiting to hear if Bellator wants him to defend the belt.
“I honestly don’t know if I’m on the card yet,” said Curran on MMA Junkie Radio. “I’ve just seen some interviews saying it’d be nice to stack the card with the champions. I just haven’t signed the paper yet. It’s up to Bellator. I’d love to be on that card.”
Curran is 9-1 for Bellator and defended the belt twice this year. He was even open to a superfight with lightweight champion Michael Chandler.
Daniel Straus and Magomedrasul Khasbulaev are the top featherweight contenders.
Bellator 106 is November 2 from the Convention and Entertainment Center in Long Beach, CA. Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Tito Ortiz are the main event.
