Josh Burkman and Jon Fitch are even with each taking a win. To settle the score, Burkman sees a rubber match in the future with championship gold being involved.
“Number three fights are very classic and with a documented career that Fitch’s been in and the way the second fight went down, a third fight is going to happen,” said Burkman to Sherdog. “I think Fitch will go and win one or two fights and the WSOF will have me and Fitch fighting for the title sometime next year.”
The first saw Fitch take a second round win under the UFC name. At WSOF 3, Burkman got revenge with a guillotine choke win in 41 seconds.
Burkman is still out with a finger injury. He has about two more weeks until he’s back to striking.
Fitch is 1-3 since late 2011 and joined the WSOF as a former UFC welterweight title contender.
