Lyman Good Knows A Fighter Must Eventually Deal With Defeat

Lyman Good goes down in history as the inaugural Bellator welterweight champion. His title was yanked away almost three years ago when Ben Askren took the belt at Bellator 33.

It was Good’s first loss at the time, but he’s not worried as it goes with the profession.

“It doesn’t haunt me,” said Good to MMA Linker. “I’ve been able to sit back and assimilate the experience that came with that fight. I learned from that fight and it’s motivated me to go out there and make sure something in the same fashion won’t happen.”

Since that 2010 defeat, he’s gone 5-2. Good has attempted three times to win the welterweight tournament. His most recent outing was a loss in the Season 7 finals.

Good last took a decision over Dante Rivera at Bellator 95.
