John Howard watched The Ultimate Fighter 17 and witnessed Uriah Hall finish competitors with brutal knockouts. For Howard, he thinks Hall’s a good fighter but overrated.
“He knocked out some guys with some flashy stuff,” said Howard on WAAF 97.7/107.3 FM Boston’s Rock Station. “He fought Ultimate Fighter fighters. What people have to understand is these guys are not legit UFC fighters, they’re guys who are trying to be a UFC fighter.”
Hall made an impression quickly in the show when he sent Adam Cella to the hospital after a spinning hook kick in the final 10 seconds of the first round. He finished Bubba McDaniel in eight seconds and needed two rounds to take care of Dylan Andrews. Hall lost in the finals to Kelvin Gastelum.
Howard is returning to the UFC after being released following three straight losses. The last two years have seen him take five wins for Rhode Island’s CES and claim their middleweight title.
The middleweights are on the main card of UFC Fight Night 26. It’s August 17 from Boston, MA’s TD Garden and will be the first show on the new FOX channel.
