“Fighting Uriah Hall, I think he’s good. A little overrated. He knocked out some guys with some flashy stuff. That’s good, it’s impressive, but my thing is who did he fight? He fought Ultimate Fighter fighters. What people have to understand is these guys are not legit UFC fighters, they’re guys who are trying to be a UFC fighter. Lets switch sides, let me be Uriah Hall, put me in the house. What do you think would happen? Not only do I have knockouts in the UFC I have knockouts throughout my career. I have more knockouts than him. And the people I knocked out were more creditable.”
John Howard tells it like it is in a recent interview with WAAF 97.7/107.3 FM | Boston’s Rock Station. The former UFC welterweight will be making his return to the Octagon across from the The Ultimate Fighter sensation Uriah Hall, only this time he will be fighting as a middleweight instead of welterweight. Can the knockout artist successfully convert the power he had at 170 up to the 185 lb class where the fighters will be much bigger and stronger than they were during his seven-fight run in the organization from ’08 to mid-2011. Howard won four straight fights in the UFC before losing three straight to formidable opponents like Jake Ellenberger, Thiago Alves and Matt Brown. Howard has won six of his last seven fights since his release from the UFC, five of which he’s ended within the distance.
