Former UFC fighter Ryo Chonan has announced his retirement bout. Chonan is one of only a handful of fighters to ever defeat Anderson Silva.
The 36-year-old Japanese competitor is the current DEEP middleweight champion. He will defend his title against Dan Hornbuckle on October 20 in his final match.
Chonan is 21-13 in his career and scored his submission victory vs. Silva in 2004. He last competed in the UFC in 2009, falling by decision to TJ Grant.
I fight against Dan Hornbuckle in Tokyo on October 20. This fight is a Deep's welter title shot. It's my retirement match.
