Many people were caught off guard when Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney announced that Quinton “Rampage” Jackson would debut for them against Tito Ortiz. For two fighters who never competed for Bellator, they will headline their inaugural PPV which Rebney thought was a smart move.
“There’s been a huge amount of talk about this,” said Rebney during Bellator’s media call. “If there was a Mount Rushmore of mixed martial arts, these two would be carved in stone.”
Rebney said the main card will consist of five fights, with lightweight champion Michael Chandler possibly appearing. He was looking to open the main card with a title fight, similar to how they debuted on Spike TV. Speaking of Spike TV, Rebney believes they would serve the prelims in a two hour show.
The PPV will cost somewhere in the $35-$40 range to watch. It’s November 2 from the Convention and Entertainment Center in Long Beach, CA.
