Sergio Moraes left UFC 163 an excited man. To match his big smile, there’s an extra $50,000 as he took Submission of the Night opposite Neil Magnyergio. Moraes was able to go from the mount position into a triangle choke for the second round win.
“I train every day the same position and want to reach high levels in the UFC,” said Moraes through a translator to MMA Fighting. “After that fight, I’m willing to do better and better.”
The Ultimate Fighter runner-up said he’ll be back to training on Monday. Moraes has won his last two via a choke.
America’s Magnyergio is 1-1 for the UFC, with both appearances taking place this year. The welterweight has been with the sport since 2010.
They fought on the prelims that aired on FX. It was yesterday, August 3, from the HSBC Arena.
