Rani Yahya was pushed to his limit by Josh Clopton at yesterday’s UFC 163. Still trying to catch his breath backstage after taking the win, Yahya knows one area that needs improvement.
“I have to improve my cardio and he’s a strong fighter,” said Yahya to MMA Fighting. “I want to be stronger next time and put on a better show.”
On the card, Yahya got the decision win and said he accepts whatever challenge the UFC has to offer.
Since 2007, Yahya has been associated with the WEC and UFC. The former WEC bantamweight title contender has since returned to his featherweight days as a member of the UFC. He’s 4-1 for the promotion and riding three straight wins.
It was the second time Clopto entered the Octagon with the other being back in 2011. He took another decision loss in his UFC debut against Steven Siler.
UFC 163 was headlined with featherweight champion Jose Aldo stopping “Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung. It came from Brazil’s HSBC Arena.
