Viscardi Andrade made his UFC debut opening yesterday’s UFC 163 card. His early round two stoppage over Bristol Marunde has the Brazilian wanting to be promoted to the main card.
“I train very hard and don’t want to be on the preliminary card,” said Andrade through a translator to MMA Fighting. “I want to make the main card, so I didn’t just come here to win. I came to put on a show.”
The welterweight Andrade has been around since 2006 and is 17-5, with most of those meetings taking place in Brazil. It was his first win of the year and seventh in a row.
Marundehas has now lost three in a row, with the last pair coming from the UFC. The Ultimate Fighter’s Clint Hester finished him in April.
