For the third time in less than two years, it’s going to be Cain Velasquez vs. Junior dos Santos for the UFC heavyweight championship.
“We are definitely going to look for different stuff coming from him because he could change his game plan up,” said Velasquez during the UFC World Tour. “So our style stays the same, going to keep that pace going forward — punches, takedowns, always looking for an opening for anything. That’s just my style of fighting, so we are going to keep doing that.”
The first UFC on FOX show saw Santos take a quick round one win for the belt. He dropped the title at UFC 155 to Velasquez in a one-sided encounter.
Since their rematch, each has taken a win. Velasquez defended the belt against Antonio “Big Foot” Silva and Santos finished Mark Hunt.
The rubber match is set for UFC 166 on October 19 from the Toyota Center in Houston, TX.
