UFC president Dana White stood up on the podium with four UFC champions and four contenders Tuesday in Los Angeles as part of the UFC World Tour.
UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez, light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and female champ Ronda Rousey were joined by challengers Junior dos Santos, Alex Gustafsson, Johny Hendricks and Miesha Tate.
“We started to lay out the rest of the year and saw the fights coming together,” White said. “This is a special time. We’ve never had this many huge, great fights to end a year.”
White added that “it is about getting out there and letting people know these fights are happening.”
The UFC boss stated they are always about promoting the next fight, but this was an opportunity to push all four at once, saying it is an “unique opportunity that has never been done before.”
