The next women’s bantamweight championship fight between Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate will be their second meeting, it’s all set to take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in the year’s end (DEC. 28, 2013). Tate was stopped by Rousey in the first round to cough up her Strikeforce belt to the Judo based armbar assassin last year.
Tate has now decided to find some specific training partners whose accomplishments in Judo surpass Rousey’s, she explained in a late interview.
“I was just looking people up to see who’s better than Ronda at Judo. That’s basically my mission: to find people that are better than her and train with them
“The thing about MMA is I don’t love it to just try to win. Obviously I want to win, but the reason I fell in love with this sport is because there’s always something new to learn. So I’m looking forward to actually just learning some of the art. Another big part of it would be to understand Judo from a Judo person’s perspective. That was the missing link before and so that’s what I’m gonna try to implement in this training camp.”
Does Tate’s recent adjustment in her training camp prove to be enough against the champ in their co-main event rematch of UFC 168: Silva vs. Weidman II? Will Rousey remain top dog in her division and make it twice with a quick tap out of Tate?
