Daron Cruickshank’s Method To Avoid Injuries

Daron Cruickshank has fought four times in 13 months, a ratio many fighters don’t reach in such a short period.

“When I spar, I look like a football player,” said Cruickshank to MMA Fighting. “I cover up from head to toe. I have a mask, elbow pads, chin pads, head gear, chest protector. I don’t want to get hurt in training. You don’t always have to go hard.”

The win put Cruickshank back in the win column. He took a pair of wins in 2012 before John Makdessi handed him his first UFC loss. He rebounded with his UFC on FOX 8 win from Yves Edwards.

Edwards has been everywhere with MFC, PRIDE, Strikeforce and Bellator. He’s taken two straight losses in a career that has spanned 63 fights over 16 years.

UFC on FOX 8 was yesterday, July 27, and came from the KeyArena in Seattle, WA. For complete results of the show, click here.
