Germaine De Randamie Was Too Calm In UFC Debut

Germaine de Randamie was the first Dutch female to compete inside the Octagon and she left the victor. Randamie took the split-decision over a veteran in Julie Kedzie. Though it was Randamie’s debut for the UFC, she wasn’t nervous and perhaps too calm.

“I can do better and should do better,” said Randamie to MMA Fighting. “Maybe I felt too calm. I got the win and that’s what matters now.”

Randamie is now 4-2. She spent time in Strikeforce as a bantamweight and featherweight. In kickboxing, she’s undefeated with 37 wins with 14 by way of knockout.

Kedzie has been fighting for a decade now. This defeat joins the two she took from Strikeforce for a 16-12 record.

The women were the first prelim fight on FX from the KeyArena in Seattle, WA. It was this past Saturday and headlined with flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson submitting John Moraga.
