Demetrious Johnson placed his name in the UFC history books Saturday night, submitting John Moraga and defending his UFC flyweight title at UFC on FOX: Johnson vs. Moraga.
With his armbar victory at the 3:43 mark of the fourth round, Johnson secured the latest stoppage win in the history of the promotion.
However, despite being up on the scorecards, “Mighty Mouse” wasn’t working hard for finish – he just wanted the win.
“It wasn’t important to me at all,” said Johnson, who became a father recently for the first time. “I am here to fight. If a finish comes, I’ll take it.”
Previously, Johnson topped Joseph Benavidez for the vacant title and successfully defended it vs. John Dodson earlier this year. This was his second FOX main event.
“I am just trying to keep on getting better,” he said. “It felt great.”
