Robbie Lawler vs. Bobby Voelker
Our first of two welterweight bouts on the main card is up now, as Robbie Lawler (20-9) looks to better his standing in the division vs. Bobby Voelker (24-9). Lawler was originally set to face both Tarec Saffiedine and Siyar Bahadurzada before injuries happened to each fighter. Dan Miragliotta serves as the referee.
Round 1: Lawler takes Voelker down like he’s a sack of potatoes, looking to beat on him. Voelker, though, quickly gets to his feet, eating a knee on the way up. Another knee to the body inside the clinch by Lawler, as he has bloodied Voelker up. The executives at FOX will be happy about that, as there is tons of blood everywhere and it’s still early in this one. Lawler moving freely, blocks a head kick by Voelker. Lawler using his speed and quickness, and now Voelker appears to have injured his foot after throwing a kick. Flying knee by Lawler to end the round connects.
FightLine scores the round 10-9 for Lawler
Round 2: Just like that, Lawler lands a head kick that drops Voelker. Lawler throws his hands in the air and embraces the win.
