John Albert vs. Yaotzin Meza
We open up action at a catch-weight, as John Albert (7-4) was unable to 135 pounds. Yaotzin Meza (19-8) still agreed to the fight, so here we go. The referee will be Randy Corley.
Round 1: Good exchange of low kicks, and Albert gets planted off a takedown from Meza. Albert, though, pulls guard and is looking for a possible submission. Meza avoids the submission attempts and grabs hold of his own guillotine, but Albert slides to side control. Albert moves into a “spider-web” with the right arm locked, rolls over to his belly and is trying to break the grip of Meza and score the armbar. Meza doing a great job of fighting it off, and is able to, taking the back in the process. Albert quickly to half-guard. Meza rolls to another guillotine attempt and mounts with it, squeezing tight as we go under 20 seconds. Albert separates the hands and survives.

Round 2: Albert goes quickly for another choke, and works to get his legs wrapped around in a triangle. Meza attempting to stand up and power down, but allows Albert to secure an arm, as well. Albert tightening the grip, but his legs give way and he gives up his back to Meza. Albert is in trouble, as Meza mounts, takes the back again and scores an easy choke, as Albert seemed exhausted beyond competing.
