Liz Carmouche made history with Ronda Rousey as the first female fight for the UFC. They closed UFC 157 as Rousey took the first round armbar submission win. Carmouche hopes a win over Jessica Andrade at UFC on FOX 8 places her back in the title picture.
“Hopefully after this fight, it’ll put me right back as being a contender for the belt,” said Carmouche to MMA Fighting.
Andrade was a late replacement for Miesha Tate. She’s 9-2 and has a pair of wins this year.
Carmouche had two wins for Invicta FC before joining the UFC. The 29-year-old has finished seven of her eight wins.
They make more UFC history as both competitors are members of the LGBT community. They’re on the main card of UFC on FOX 8, which is July 27 from the KeyArena in Seattle, WA.
