It’s been just under a year since Bellator bantamweight champion Eduardo Dantas suffered a surprise round one loss to Tyson Nam. Dantas was given permission to take the non-title bout for another promotion and learned a lesson from the loss.
“In a way it was very good for me because I learned to think,” said Dantas to MMA Junkie. “I changed my style a bit. I’m more cold now. I play a more intelligent game. This defeat was very good for me. It helped me mature a lot.”
The loss pushed Dantas’ return for Bellator. When Dantas did return, he finished Marcos Galvao in round two to go 5-0 for Bellator.
Nam would have a disagreement with Bellator whether he was under contract to them or not. Eventually, he signed with the World Series of Fighting and took a quick loss to Marlon Moraes.
Dantas currently has no top contender announced.
