World featherweight champion Jose Aldo will look to defend his title for the fifth consecutive time against “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung next month (AUG. 3, 2013) in the main event of UFC 163: Aldo vs. Zombie from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
What was first expected to be a dynamic showdown between Aldo and Anthony Pettis is now replaced with a less intriguing match-up, but it could still bring fireworks in the 145-pound division.
“The Korean Zombie’s” style of fighting may not be as graceful as “Showtime’s”, but the way in which he approaches every fight is always a pleasure to watch. And while the Brazilian believes his opponent is to be respected, he plans to make him pay for every mistake that’s made when they meet in the Octagon.
Though Aldo is a striker who displays expert’s finesse in every technique, he says he’s willing to open up a bit more this time and trade leather with his challenger.
“The fact that he reached this point and he’s fighting for the belt really means a lot. It means he has to be respected, and because of that I will train hard to be ready for him. I do think he fights very wide open. He leaves a lot of opportunities to be struck. So if that;s the way he really wants to fight, then that is the way I want to fight as well.”
