Edson Barboza Wants Top Five Contender

Edson Barboza is still feeling the effects of his latest win and is already looking towards the future. At UFC 162, Barboza took a second round stoppage over Rafaello Oliveira.

“I want to fight a top five opponent,” said Barboza to Sherdog. “As I always say, I want to be the champion. I know it is a long path to get it, [so] I want to be challenged. I don’t have any particular name, but a top-five opponent is what I ask for.”

It made Barboza 6-1 for the UFC and was his second straight win. The win marked the second time he’s finished a fight due to leg kicks.

Oliveira is now 1-3 in his second outing for the promotion. He was released during his prior stint following a 1-2 run.

They were on the prelims of UFC 162. It was July 6 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
