A welterweight contest has been announced to take place later this year, when knockout/submission artist Erick Silva meets the grueling Judo game of Dong Hyun Kim in his home country of Brazil. Complete opposites in styles, Silva being the finisher with twelve of his wins coming by KO or Sub and Kim having all but a single UFC fight go the distance
Kim (17-2, 8-2 UFC) managed to drown the knockout artist in Siyar Bahadurzada in his last appearance inside the Octagon, controlling the fight throughout all three rounds and maintaining top position to ride out another unanimous decision win
Silva (15-3, 3-2 UFC)has always been a pleasure to watch perform when the pressure is on. Though he’s yet to string together two-straight wins in the Octagon, a fight of the year candidate performance against Jon Fitch last year pleased the boss man enough for them to want to keep him around. Also owner of two submission of the night bonuses, the young Brazilian will likely look to land something early, and finally score back-to-back wins in the UFC.
The bout is so far expected for October
