UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has embarked on preparations for his September title fight with Alexander Gustafsson.
The two will meet from the Air Canada Centre at UFC 165: Jones vs. Gustafsson. With a win, “Bones” will become the leader with six title defenses, surpassing the record set by Tito Ortiz.
“Day 1 baby!!! Kickboxing with (coach Mike Winkeljohn) went great, grappling with coach (Greg) Jackson later,” Jones posted on Twitter Tuesday.
Jones has defeated the likes of Vitor Belfort, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, Rashad Evans and Chael Sonnen during his time as champion.
